Frequently Asked Questions

The morning tends to be a little cooler, but the trail is definitely much more busy.  The afternoon is a little hotter but the trail is a lot less busy so you can hike faster.   In general, people like to do the ride & hike in the morning and then hit the beach and/or relax in the afternoon.

If you are relatively active, you should be ok. The hike is about 1.6 miles round trip and there are rest stops along the way so we can goat our own pace.  If you have knee/hip issues, the steeper stairs may be challenging.  Walking/hiking sticks are available upon request.

Activewear is recommended; shorts and a t-shirt are usually fine. A hat, a small towel, and sunscreen are also recommended as the hike doesn’t have a lot of tree cover and can get hot.  Hiking boots aren’t needed, comfortable sneakers (not sandals) are recommended. We provide 1 bottle of water, but an additional bottle is recommended (especially for the summer and afternoon hikes).
